We were disappointed by Kidston service. It was a simple land transaction and we were seller side. No mortgage or any complications, other than lawyer agreed for $150 extra to get docs signed by visiting clients at their nursing home. Standard legal fees are very high in Vernon, but there were so many mistakes on this straightforward file. We were even sent another client's final reporting letter! I told Kidston that and asked for our own. This was ignored. We never would have received a reporting letter on our file, so I had to ask several times. Then, there was little reporting info, despite repeated requests what was behind some numbers. A few surprises on the disbursements and 'other charges/fees' side that were not explained. I had to plead for a breakdown of the proceeds into our account. This was an easy file and yet had so many errors and indifference to the client's interests and communication. What if one had a complicated transaction or matter? I doubt I'd recommend or engage again.
