I was supplied a railing package with a glass insert for my newly renovated home. Taylor Made did the measure themselves; showed up to my house, measured the length and height. After waiting weeks I received the materials to install the package myself, as I’ve done many renovations. Once I installed the post, top and bottom rail i was ready to install the glass. I unpackaged the glass and found out the glass was way too small to fit. After discovering this I called to discuss. The lady I spoke to (found out later she’s one of the owners) gave me two options : tear the railing out, which would now require filling of the screw holes and repainting the wall. Or pay $140 for new glass ( she wouldn’t charge me the usual 40% !! mark up). Well when I told her the glass that wouldn’t fit is no use to me and I should get a refund on that piece and credit the replacement she basically said “no dude we aren’t eating that cost, you installed the railing without checking the height of the post….”, “your a contractor and should be able to fix the wall after moving all the brackets” “the post and installed brackets were incorrect and you should have known that before drilling into your wall” . Taylor Made measured it, ordered the post, installed the brackets on the said post and delivered all pieces as per their measure. And now they want me to eat the cost due to their incompetence. Was told I’d be contacted back to discuss remediation to no avail. The women’s customer service was terrible, and judging by the incorrect measure on this very simple project I’d stay away from the contractor!!!
