Company Description

Aberdeen Veterinary Hospital is a new veterinary practice conceived and built by Dr. Ken Gummeson and Dr. Diane McKelvey . Both are long time Kamloops residents since 1993 and 1998 respectively.

After practicing in the city for many years, they sold their interests in an existing Kamloops practice and embarked on a new series of professional adventures. Dr. McKelvey moved to Australia, where she taught small animal internal medicine to veterinary students at the University of Adelaide. Dr. Ken Gummeson went to work as interim Registrar for the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia, (the agency that regulates the veterinary profession in B.C.), and as an inspector. In addition he spent a year doing locum veterinary work across the province.

In the spring of 2014, Drs. McKelvey and Gummeson decided it was time to get back into private practice in Kamloops. They envisioned a modern, purpose-built veterinary hospital where they could practice veterinary medicine at their very best every day. With a combined 32 years of experience, they look forward to once again servicing Kamloops’ pet owning community with their knowledge, skills and expertise.
